Originally released in 1993, *Live* captures Doro Pesch at a crucial stage in her career. The recordings were made during her “Angels Never Die” tour in the early 1990s and document the extraordinary stage presence with which she had already established herself as one of the most renowned voices in international heavy metal.
DORO first gained international recognition in the 1980s as the frontwoman of Warlock. With albums such as *Burning the Witches* (1984), *Hellbound* (1985), and *Triumph and Agony* (1987), the band reached a worldwide audience. Songs like “All We Are” and “Für Immer” became true genre staples and absolute evergreens, while Warlock was among the first German metal bands to tour internationally and break into the US market.
At a time when women in heavy metal were still rare, DORO became a defining figure for female-fronted metal. Her success paved the way for subsequent female artists and helped establish female voices as a lasting presence within the genre. In 1986, DORO became the first woman to perform at the legendary Monsters of Rock festivals.
After Warlock disbanded, DORO successfully continued her career as a solo artist and built an impressive international fan base. *Live* reflects this transitional phase, combining Warlock classics with early solo material and documenting the close connection between the artist and her audience.
The new edition of *Live* will be released on July 3, 2026, as a strictly limited picture vinyl and includes exclusive liner notes written by Doro Pesch herself. A partial edition will also include a hand-signed art print (15 x 15 cm) by the artist.
On her own label, Rare Diamonds Productions, DORO will release the corresponding configuration as a CD+DVD digipak.
